Dana, got your guestbook entry but there is not longer a possibilty to approve and to publish
Sampa is runing down.
Soon the new website will work than we are back againb to the standard.
Deb and Russ say hello to you!
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
Dara and Rozie back to Vet today. They knocked over a glass pan of macaroni and cheese - Part of the mac/cheese gone and there was some blood. Nothing visable and Vet put them on high fiber diet. I had just fed them so I hope they are ok. Its now 5 days and they seem to be normal. Children - It is now 90+ degrees during the day but cools off at night. Dara does not like the heat so she sleeps outside at night because it cooler. Most Oregonians do not have air conditioning. It is sorta a stigma if you do. (Bad for the enviroment) I have it but it is not working and hardly worth the cost to fix for 2 or 3 days per year that you need it. We are taking to midnight walks to visit flower gardens in our neighborhood. It is cooler for the dogs.
Kiss Bella and hugs for everyone. We also loved the Dog show also. Being surrounded by Cuvacs was an incredible feeling. Nothing like it anywhere. That's why I love that one picture of Kylee's so much where they are herded together and you mostly see fur. It captures what you feel to be surrounded by them.

Danah, just Debbie, Russ and the kids Alex and RJ arrived for a week with Bella and they talk a lot about the dog show. They loved it and they are nervous about getting soon their second Slovensky Cuvac.
We would like to have the next Memorial (2010) in Oregon or Nebraska. We have to talk about.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Sampa anounced... they can't pay longer. Each one who payed can declaime to get money back.
I am pretty far to preparew the export of this site to my new webadress www.slovenskycuvacusa.com but not ready yet. So you still will find an empty site.
Congratulations about the great shape of Dara.
Did he took a pre-x-ray/
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
Why is sampa closing? I just sent them money for a site for my family.
Good News: Dara to vet yesterday - no puppy cuvottees. She weighs 75 lbs and the vet detected she had been skunked right away. She has some inflamation in her ears but otherwise perfect. Taking her for walks outside the neighborhood - do not want strangers to pick up where we live. The job situation is really bad here and I think people are desparate.
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
I'm from Hillsboro, OR. Would love to have a dog show out here if all you guys would come. Roseburg is great - we go to Ashland every year for the Shakespearian (sp)
Fest. Originally I came from western Nebraska my sister and I still have a cattle ranch back there but toooooo many rattlesnakes. Hot News: Someone in downtown Portland broke into these people's house and skinned and dismembered the dog. I am just sick with worry. Keeping the dogs locked in with alarm set when I'm not home.
By joel sherriff USA/Virginia:
Dana, where in OR are you at? I'm originally from the big city of Roseburg.
By joel sherriff USA/Virginia:
>Joel, wonderful to see you first time here.
Yeah, that work thing really gets in the way. I've been lurking, but never had time to post.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
perhaps we open now a club for false pregnant females? Ulka will be a member too!!
By IVANA VANORDER USA:
I'M LEAVING FOR SLOVAKIA ON 25TH. I'M GONNA LOOK AROUND FOR SOME BOOKS OR MAGAZINES OR ARTICLES ABOUT SC. MAYBE I'LL BE LUCKY AND GET SOM UNDESCOVERED BOOKS.
By IVANA VANORDER USA:
HAY ELISABETH, HAVE YOU EVER HEARD FROM THE AUTHOR OF THE BOOK ABOUT SC? DID YOU STILL WANTED TO GET TRANSLATION OF THAT BOOK? I'M SURE WE ALL WOULD LOVE TO GET COPY :)
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
I've noticed a little change in behavior. Not so ambitious to play chase with her toys. It could also be the the weather - warmer. She lays around more. We are exercising her more though. Rozland got after her the other day and she ran again with her tail tucked.
One of my flight attendant friends trains Berneese (sp) Mountain Dogs and she was so excited to hear about the Cuvacs. She knows all about them. She said not to baby Dara too much when this happens. She always runs to me for protection - Kylee always tells Dara to buck up.
I tried to get her into the dog park but they will not let her go cuz she is not fixed. She's doing great with little dogs, plays very gently with them. I was so surprised. I have not seen any signs of aggression she only barks at the gasoline attendant when we go for a fill up. (Rozie taught her this). I think next time I will get her out of the car to meet the
attendant. They are always so nice and always give treats. So does the bank and the dump and free ice cream at Dairy Queen.
While sitting at an outside cafe in Amsterdam I discovered my waitress was from slovakia. She wants pictures of the dogs. A college student - lives about 15 miles from Bratslava and is working in Amsterdam for the summer. Very cute and her English was pretty good.
Maybe we could get some college students to translate, or do some research on these critters.
Lots of passengers on my flights going to Prague - I cannot wait to go there. I agree with Elizabeth loving a Cuvac is like a bacteria or more like a disease. It doesn't matter whose dog it is I love each and every one.
We did not go to the parade. It was very hot 93 degrees and the parade was in the same area of the dog nappers but there is a opportunity on the coast to show her off and pass out fliers later this summer.
Janet thank you so much for the information about her nipples. I think they are getting more back to normal.
Tell Valika and all the other cuvacs to stay away from Skunks pu--------------------. Skunks cannot be treed like cats and they are not life squeaky toys.
By Janet USA/Texas:
It is normal for some dogs teats to become enlarged when in heat, but especially afterwards. Even if the dog did not mate and become pregnant, she will be in a cycle of about 60 days where her body acts like it is pregnant because of an increase in progesterone. As the progesterone decreases, the nipples usually get smaller too. If she was pregnant though you would see other changes.
Sometimes it can be a false pregnancy too. Just watch her and see if she shows any signs. Valika did. She started to nest and treat her toys like they were puppies. She became very protective of them and slightly aggressive to my other dogs.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Joel, wonderful to see you first time here.
By joel sherriff USA/Virginia:
Dana and Paula talking about Cuvac's and climate made me post a new picture to our puppies page at http://tranquilhill.us/puppies.html. Just hover over the "Cuvacs like Cold" thumbnail for a picture of Bo and Taco (nicknames) napping in their favorite spot (the A/C vent).
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Dana... just yesterday I heared.... Cojotees don't like Slovensky Cuvac. So don't be afraid about a poregnancy of Dara.
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
Dara's breasts seem like they are swollen a little. Is this normal or should I be worried?
Do they get larger after their first heat? God I do not want Cuvotees. There is no way she was exposed to anyone unless a coyotee did sneak into the back yard.
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
Gerry thinks Dara would be a fabulous service (comfort) Dog. Let me know about the training.
FIREWORKS: Last night Dara belted out the door and I could not find her. She had run outside and jumped back into the car and here I was running all around the neighborhood looking for her. She does not like firecrackers. However she did not mind the sparklie kind at the beach. Just the loud ones.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Paula, lived for a time in NY Sate and I really think, the weather there is fantastic for a SC. And... at winter time snow.
Happy you are now a SC lover too!
By Paula Fuller USA:
Wow - after reading all your comments on the heat, I'm very glad I live in upstate NY. It hardly every gets above 90, even in late August. I think Tauqua will like this climate very much. I'm picking her up from Joel in Virginia at the end of July, and I'm so excited. I bet she's gonna LOVE the snow too!
If anyone is interested, I've found BOATLOADS of information on training service dogs, that might be useful for some of you, even if your Cuvac isn't going to be used as a service dog. I am really looking forward to beginning Tauqua's training. I just found out that my sister who has cancer, has also lost all the cartilege in her knees. Pretty soon, she'll need help getting up, support walking, and maybe even wheelchair assistance. Tauqua's arrival couldn't happen at a better time. Does anybody know if the Cuvac has a "weight limit" for carting? I'll have to wait til Tauqua's skeleton has fully developed before starting on the cart training, but the timing is perfect for everybody. I have other home health clients, who are also very excited to meet Tauqua and work with her. She is going to help a LOT of people, just by doing what comes naturally to the breed. I hope she likes being a "working girl" cuz there are lots of things she can help me with.
One of the best things I found out about service dogs, are the special exemptions offered to the animal through the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). There are no licensing fees, or registration fees for the dog. EVERY expense from food to vet bills is tax deductable as a medical expense for the patient or trainer who owns the dog. Some states even offer "dog food stamps" to cover the cost of food. There are also sites online that offer free flea treatments, discounted training equipment, and special harnesses, backpacks, and patches to identify the dog as a service dog. It's an interested lifestyle owning and training a service dog. The animal goes with you EVERYWHERE. It's a little draining for the first few months, but the dog adapts quickly to all the different environments from grocery stores to movie theaters. Every service dog I've ever worked with takes to the training and the job with joy and enthusiasm. It seems like, the more intensly focused the training is, the better they take to it. I am very excited and hopeful, that the Cuvac will be an exceptional breed for this type of training. Perhaps, if Tauqua does well, this breed can excell as a service dog - which might make them a lot more popular in the USA. Tauqua and I will keep everyone posted on our progress. Training starts 1st week of August.

DANA, WE HAD A WEEK OF 90'S HERE IN MICHIGAN AND YESTERDAY AND TODAY IT FELT DOWN TO 62!!! EVEN ARGO WAS LOOKING AROUND WHEN HE WENT OUTSIDE THIS MORNING, WONDERING WHAT THE HACK HAPENED. RECORD LOW'S. BUT FOR 4TH IT SHOULD BE BACK AROUND 78.
ANYONE HAS ANY GOOD ADDVICE ABOUT WHAT TO DO SO DOGS DON'T FREEK OUT DURING FIREWORKS?
By Dana Hartman USA/Oregon:
Too bad you guys do not live in Oregon. I do not think we have hit the high 80's yet. Maybe one or two days, but nooooo 90's. Probably 4 days max in the summer. The 4th is always depressing. The days start to get shorter and it always feels like fall to me.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Ivana, at night it is humid too and so warm...(85-90 degree) but mostly a cooler wind is coming up. In the big yard there it is cooler under the trees. But... they are staying inside for 90% of the day. After going out, they tell us, it is enough... we want to go in again. Yes, SC love the cold mostly snow... but this is not a reason to move. Dennis hats snow and cold!
Going to the "Milly Bush Bark Park" at the eving they enjoy to play with each dog ( 100-200 dogs on the ground and all free) and to went in one of the pools.
By IVANA VANORDER USA:
ELISABETH, I FEEL SO BAD FOR GIRLY. I ALWAYS WONDERED HOW ARE CS DOING DURING HEAT IN SOUTHERN STATES, BECAUSE I ALWAYS SAW THEM GROWING UP AND WORKING IN MOUNTAINS AND HIGH HILLS. ARGO IS NOT A BIG FAN OF SUMMER HEAT. BUT WHEN THE SUN GOES DOWN THERE IS NO WAY TO STOP HIM. SINCE WE FENCED BACK YARD HE HAS A NEW GAME OF RUNNING AROUND OUR POOL LIKE A WIND AND GOD HELP YOU IF YOU ARE IN HIS WAY. THERE IS NO STOPPING. BUT WINTER IS HIS TIME. EVERYBODY FROM SOUTH SHOULD AT LEAST MAKE A SNOW TRIP IN WINTER TO SEE HOW MUCH THESE DOGS THRIVE IN SNOW.
By Janet USA/Texas:
Okay. I found the link for the song. It made my four dogs go wild with barking. Of course Valika got quiet and came right up to he computer and started that head tilt she does when she is trying to figure out is going on. While Basie ran away.
By Janet USA/Texas:
Did I miss something? What noise are you talking about?
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
this is a crazy noise. All my 3 got singing too!
By IVANA VANORDER USA:
ARGO DIDN'T LIKE THAT CUVAC SONG. HE THOUGHT THAT NOISE WAS COMMING SOMWHERE IN THE HOUSE AND WENT CRAZY. LOL
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Cuvotees? What a great idea. There are two people, breeding/creating new breeds with Slovensky Cuvac and wolfes and Slovensky Cuvac with German Shepherd.
Are you or your Dara wants to create a new breed too.
Want to see them!
Or....., better take care, that nothing happened.
By Dana Hartman USA:
i'M JUST WORRIED ABOUT HAVING CUVOTEES - CUVAC/COYOTEE MIX.
Elizabeth, I'm afraid to show Shelie the pictures of your trip. I'm so sorry we missed the opportunity. Was it really hard on Ulka to travel so far? She looked like she was having fun. That is really a long time in a crate, of course you could go by ship next time. I want to go to Prague really bad. Hopefully soon. We start flying there from New York I think this June. Dara is doing fine. I think we are over the danger period now. She had her first experience going on a hike with a couple of 4 and 5 year olds and it was great.
I'm sure she thought they were her sheep. They crawled all over her and Dara loved it. I told them Dara may be having puppies in a year or two and now all we have to convince is their Dad. Their mom loves Dara. We have a wonderful 4-H Dog program in our area. My kids and the dog went to Dog Camp and State Fair with our Whitney and they loved it.
By Janet USA:
I was joking Elisabeth about the suntan lotion and vitamin E!
I just think the nose changing color and other differences within this breed can be puzzling to novice cuvac owners like me. For example I am more familiar with poodles where the breed standard says that the nose, lips, eye-rims, and toenail color MUST be a certain color to match a certain coat color. It is a MAJOR fault if the color of the nose is wrong, or if the lip and eye-rim color is incomplete, or of the wrong color for the dog. Brown poodles can have liver colored noses and amber eyes. Black, silver, cream and and white must have black noses and very dark eyes. And their toenails must be black or self colored. Many of the AKC breeds have similar standards.
It is good we have you Elisabeth to explain that these are NOT FAULTS in slovensky cuvacs. How else would we know how to select puppies that are good for breeding and show the correct breed standard? Right now we are all just getting puppies because we like this type of dog. But those of us that plan to breed need to be sure we are breeding the best qualities into our puppies, and not just to breeding so we can raise the number of slovensky cuvacs in the United States.
By jan.jonas1 CR:
Hi everyone, I have some news about us. Perun Janin Ranč X Hellis Frigo Janin Ranč are from yesterday parents! Thay have 5 nice puppies only boys! More info´s and foto´s at www.cervenypotok.wbs.cz( here are pupies) or at www.dylenskyvrch.cz or call +420 777774416 or send your
e-mail to jan.jonas1@seznam.cz
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
no- Janet. no more vitamins! It is since generation in this breed. Some get it, some not. The value of the dog is not less. Even my two dogs with changing nose got European Champ, Vize Worldchamp and Worldchamp. Interchamp/Champ in Luxembourg, France,Belgium, etc. The judges normally know about.
And it is not meaning... they are poor in pigment.
My Dingo with a extrem pink nose in summer time has had pups - all wonderful deep pigmented.
We have a wheat in Germany - have to look up the translation for - Brennessel. Dennis touched one on our trip in Europe and was burned! This powder of the plant feeded darken up the pigment.
And... most of the Cuvac didn't have black nails, or a pigmented skin.
Some have pink-grey /black spotted paws, some pink at the lips etc
By Janet USA:
This pigmentation issue, especially regarding the dog's nose color is a puzzling to me. My Valika has a black nose, solid black toenails and pads of the feet, along with the black around the eyes and lips. Her black STAYS black all the time. It never fades. But Basie, my male, has a black nose that is lighter and browner as it reaches his white fur and it changes color. His toenails are also not solid black. Overall, I don't think his black markings or eyes are as dark as Vali's. I have read about Labradors noses getting lighter with a lack of sunlight and in the winter. But Elisabeth, are you saying cuvacs noses may get lighter in the summer? Maybe these lighter cuvacs need more vitamin E or or suntan lotion!!!
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Dana... perhaps you read about the "changing nose"? The pigment of a lot of Cuvac get more pink when it got hot.
My first SC has had a changing nose. Was funny to see, when it got light pink and darkend again.
By Paula Fuller USA:
I had a thought the other day. If Samoyeds are called "Sammies" and Newfoundlands are called "Newfies" why not call a Tchuvach a "Chewie"? Perhaps they can be trained to growl like Wookies (star wars). I'll work on that when I get my puppy.
By Dana Hartman USA:
This is the danger week for Dara. Lots of barking last night, there must have been that coyote sniffing around the neighborhood again so she slet inside. Every day she makes me smile and I am still in disbelief that there was such a perfect dog for me. The weather is beautiful - 80's during the day and 56 at night. Perfect for a furry creature.
Did I read somewhere that their noses get blacker during the summer?
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Jan, you really have a nice male. His father is a brother to Anton Janin Ranc here in VA. Tery is a very nice female with a wonderful bloodline.
Hope, someone is out there to take over your baby male
By Dana Hartman USA:
There is a place in Oregon where you can send your dog to be trained with sheep, it might be herding though. Anyway Shelie, my sister, says once you expose them to this they go crazy for it. Its like an addiction and you would have to live with sheep and goats all the time thereafter. I would think chickens would be tooo tempting to eat. I think you should trade in the chickens for a male and female Cuvac and have baby cuvacs running around.

about working Slovensky Cuvac in USA another comment!
At the Harward University in MA they started years ago a test program. Herding dogs growing up with goats and sheeps. Several different breeds, also Slovensky Cuvac. At TV there was a documentation about the studies and I own a video about. Puppies in the age of 7-8 weeks was integrated in the herd.
Very impressiv.

Brent - I'm pretty sure that there are no breeders of working Slovensky Cuvac in the USA (ones that would know how to protect chickens.) I have been told from people who train other flock guardians that the puppy would have to be raised with the animals they will protect from when they are 4 to 14 weeks old. So Elisabeth is right that you will probably have to look in Slovakia or the Czech Republic. So have you thought about getting a puppy and raising it with your flock? I have been told that cuvacs guard by instinct and not so much by training. So this socialization with other animals id very important. If you Google "Training a flock guardians" you will get several good hits. But maybe you are already familiar with this process?
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Brent, wonderful to know, a Slovensky Cuvac will be in yoiur future.
In USA there is no male for sa new home. Perhaps anyone in Slovakia has a male, going to a new home.
I know only about several young males in Slovakia and also a 9 months old male.
Out of the litter in Virginia is one male for sale. End of July he can go to a new home.
By Brent Stinar:
Friends --
My wife and I are looking for a 3-year-old or so SC to guard our heritage chicken flock -- www.evensong-farm.com -- in Sharpsburg, Maryland. My grandmother -- from Presov, Slovakia -- recently passed away, and I'd love to honor her with this wonderful, white working dog. We're happy to look far and wide for our farm and family.
Thank you so much.
Brent.

Paula, congratulations. Tghe first SC in the State of New York?!
There are wonderful people in the Club and eachone is talking with eachone. There is Joyce working with her females... and I am sure, she can answere a lot of questions.
But all others too.
If you have questions, use the comment box at the end of each page... best would be "Blog News" and you will receive comments back.

So - I'm gonna be a new Cuvac Owner at the end of July. I'm getting one of Joel's pups - a female - and naming her Tauqua. I know I'm not up to speed like most folks on the site. This is my first Cuvac, I'm very excited about bringing her into my life - and I intend to put her to work helping me as a caregiver. I'm going to be asking a lot of questions, so I hope your group is open to sharing information. It's always awkward being the new kid on the block - but here I am. I hope I can make a lot of new friends here.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
I love your little stories Jane and Dana.
Always worth a big laugher!
By Janet USA:
Dana - So far none of my dogs, that includes the cuvacs and the mutts, have ever been interested in my shoes which I careless leave out where they can get them. I know I should "knock on wood" as I say this. (Do others around the world use that expression "knock on wood" which is a superstitious action to ward off evil in hopes that the good thing you are saying will continue?)
Congratulations Jan on Perun's future puppies! I have seen Perun's photo online. He is a beautiful SC.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I love looking a SC puppies (and big SCs too!) Those dark eyes and all that white fur are irresistible to me. I can't wait till Valika is old enough to have puppies.
By Dana Hartman USA:
Janet: Have you ever heard of spiritual encounters? Or the table game UP TABLE UP, only in this case UP CHAIR UP. My parents used to play this. They would sit around a card table and all concentrate on the spirits in the room and pretty soon the legs on the table would rise off the floor. I'm convinced that Cuvacs are connected to the spirit world. How else would all those Cuvac Stories get passed down from generation to generation. Maybe you should hire a ghost buster.

Janet... we are back in Germany and the Internet is working fine now. But... the time...we are soooo buisy. Latest at the weekend there are all news about the litter and the trip.
By Dana Hartman USA:
I packed a suitcase on Friday to go to the beach. I put in four pair of shoes - when I got to the beach I had four shoes and none of them matched. DARA WHERE ARE MY SHOES STASHED? She is now playing this game, she steals my clothes out of the suitcase and then
later brings them back one at a time. I'll be watching TV and here she comes with my bra, then my blouse, etc. ect. Its like toys she is hording.
By Janet USA:
When can we see pictures of the Virginia puppies??? I'm sure we are all excited to see this new American litter.
News about my cuvaci - Valika and Basie have started a second enterprise besides their excavation company that is searching my backyard for treasures in the dirt. They have become furniture movers!!! When Bill and I went to bed last night all was well and the dogs were fairly quiet sleeping in their usual spots in the kitchen and living room. But when I got up the next morning, the large upholstered chair in the living room was moved about three feet forward and turned on an angle. What in the world they were doing and how the chair was involved, I'll never know! I'm a very light sleeper and they did it so quietly I never heard a sound.

Congratulation Cornelia and thanks for the info. A lot of people are happy about this news.

Is it really true that the litter in Virginia is offering a female free? How do I get her? What do I have to do to aquire that puppy? I'm not looking for a show quality dog anyway - just a pet I can adore. If you can help me with this, I'd really appreciate it. Since I have no plans to breed, maybe I can "win" the female. Please let me know.
By Elisabeth Pisula STDCOA:
Phil, yes, they always want to do a job. Funny your comment. Janet you and us ... I am sure are not the only one, knowing about this special talent of Slovensky Cuvac.
By Phil Ford USA:
Just got done reading Janet notes on her dogs. Funny stuff. Reminded me of all the items I have found in the back yard. Vicky and I have a dog door so the pups have easy access to stealing things from the house. Over the years they have taken pens, lighters, remotes, glasses, tools, boxes of kleenex (real fun to pick up) candles, shoes, watches and pretty much anything they could fit thru the door. We had a couple of males that thought christmas presents under the tree were for them. They would take them out back, and open them.
By Janet USA:
We had a great time at the dog show too. But I found out I have a lot of work ahead of me preparing Valika and Basie for the next show! No more menacing looks and showing your "mean" teeth at the nice judge Valika! No more rolling over on your back Valika so you wont have to run around in a circle again! And Basie, you need to learn that there is more to the world than eating, sleeping and being mama's big lovable baby cuvac!
As for holes around my yard - they are everywhere and all the work of Mr. Basie. And he hides everything he can find in those holes - toys, bones, sticks, rocks... Yes, Basie has started his own excavation company and moves rocks all around the place. So, if I'm not falling in a hole, I'm tripping over a newly placed rock. And where did all my grass go??? These dogs have worn dirt paths all through the yard as they chase each other wildly and wrestle.
One final remark. The remote control for our TV disappeared last night. When it was found the next morning, it was in Basie's mouth and had been chewed apart. Never mind that the house and yard are covered in bones which the dogs are allowed to chew. Plastic electronic gadgets are much more fun to eat!

Danah, I am sure, "Big Girl" is digging the whole for a fountain. She loved it so much to get wet and to put her nose/head under the water.
The first Kennel was in Slovakia "vom Goldenen Brunnen" and I think, she want one...

The dog show was the best time I've had in a long time. It was sooo much fun.
Kylee finally has the picures posted on the internet. Hope you are having a great time on holiday. Dara's has been being an alligator lately. Slinking her snout and eyes up over the covers and pillows, then JAWS. lOOKS JUST LIKE AN ALLIGATOR COMING OUT OF THE WATER. (Play Jaws though) She is really a snuggle bug lately.
Busy with planting flowers, so far so good. Except for the one hole in the middle of the back yard. I asked Dara what she was doing and she said "finding her roots so she's digging a hole to Bratislava. Kylee bought me a Slovenskian Flag so we put it beside the hole to keep the yard man from breaking his leg.

By Dana Hartman USA:
Went to Gerry and Shelie's for a hike last night, on the way home and as I was
pulling up in my drive there was a coyotte roaming around in my front yard.
Gerry says he has courgars in his back yard but thinks they would be scared of Dara.

Biba, Alan 's (2)photo are stored. The albums aren't updated at the moment. Too much to do with private things, travelling, visitors from Europe and preparing the dogshow. And I can do it earliest after I am back from Las Vegas April 20 09. Promised!
By Lubo Holeva CR:
Hello, my name is Biba and my father asked me to say Elisabeth that he is very happy that SC is wide spreaded in all the world. There are really lovely pictures in albums :) I sent (uploaded) some photos (our Alan photos) among pictures of SC Slovakia, but I could not find them there ... so I would like ask how (where) I should send them :) Thank you.

Hello Elisabeth,
Thanks for giving us all the news about Slovenksy Cuvac around the world! It's always interesting to visit your website.
I've got great news too: Hummel von der Stockacher Halde is now living with us. So we have 2 Cuvac Girls around us :-) Some pictures are on my homepage, text will follow. All the best from Switzerland, Caroline

I HAVE AN EXPERIENCE WITH ARGO IN PUPPY CLASSES. FOR SOME REASON I FEEL LIKE SC ARE NOT BIG ON FOOD. ESPECIALY IF THERE IS ANYTHING MOVING AROUND. ARGO CAN CARE LESS ABOUT FOOD. THERE IS NO TREAT IN THE WORLD HE WOULD TAKE OVER CHASING SOMETHING OR SOMEBODY. HE WAS THE SMARTEST AND HE LEARN THE FASTEST BUT HIS ATTENTION SPAND WAS LIKE 3 SECONDS. NOW I HAVE PROBLEMS HOLDING HIM BACK IF THERE IS ANOTHER DOG AROUND. I'M 120 LB AND ARGO IS 95. THERE WERE MULTIPLE TIMES WHEN HE JUST DRAG ME. ANYBODY HAS ANY ADDVICE HOW TO CONTROL HIM BETTER AROUND OTHER DOGS OR RUNNING OBJECTS? (TREATS DON'T WORK!!!)

Dana, Girly' s weight 10 days ago was 48 Pound. The weight for a grown up female will be arround 75Pound. So she is a tall female, I think, everything is right. Girly was much less than Miss June in the weeks they both was together in our home.
Congratulation to the first certificate.
Girly is also full of surprises. She is chewing each lead till it is apart..., she is steeling everything. Under one of the Palmtrees is her nest, where she is carrying everything. You cann't believe, what we are finding there.
And at night, ... Amardillos, Skunks and other animals on our property let her get crazy. So I get up 20 times a night, to stop her barking.
Dogs!!! Special dogs...!
By Dana Hartman:
How much does Girly weigh now. I'm afraid Dara may be 60 lbs. or more. She is bigger than Rozy and she is 65 lbs. Dara barks at the sliding door every night, I let her out and then she wants back in. I think she sees her reflection in the glass and thinks it is Girly. Dara Got her certificate for her first class completion of Dog Obiedence. If truth be know she just got one for showing up. The most ruly in the class.
Kylee and I are coming. Have a lot of work to do before then. I have recurrent training in msp and some other deadlines I have to meet.
Having problems with her in class, she just wants to play with the other dogs and not pay attention to her exercises. I'm trying to get her to keep watching me with bribery with treats but she'd rather go after the other dogs. A little pill.
By Elisabeth Pisula:
Danah, never got knowledge about a SC acting with a rattle snake.
If it happen to Miss June, please let us all know about!

I love the new website and all the albums of everyone's dogs. Dara just went on a hike and is getting prettier every day. She brought home two ticks from the woods yesterday but we got them removed. She really wants to win the lottery so she can start a Slovakian Cuvac Theme Park so all the Cuvac's around the world can come for vacation. Bear and cougar roundup, cattle drives, herding sheep, mountain climbing and no snakes. Which brings up a good question. What do Cuvac's do when confronted with rattlesnakes? I hear there is a vaccine out for this. We only have them rarely in western Oregon but plenty in Nebraska.
By Lubka Elser:
Hello Elisabeth, I would like a breakfast too :-) We look forward to seeing you both at the show! And the dogs!
By Dennis E Pisula:
Hi. Can I have breakfast now?
I love you.

I love the new website Elisabeth. you did excelent job.
Can't wait when sun comes to Michigan again. Argo is the only soul in Michigan which loves this neverending snow and cold. We are gonna close up the fence in our back yard and I think he is gonna be one happy puppy. Sometimes I feel like he is borred and he needs a friend. May be in the future! I hope all of you are doing good, Ill have a chance to get to know you all in April, in Texas.
No uvidime, mozno v bududcnosti. Dufam ze sa s Vami viacerymi stretnem v Aprili v Texase.

The new site is easier to read once you figure out how tp enter. I just looked on the back porch: The Girls are asleep and much cleaner after yesterday's rain. I don't understand how the dirt falls off their fur. But I'm glad. Love, Dennis
